Family Threads |
Family ThreadsFamily Threads is an evidence-based program that combines the principles of Family Strengthening and Support with Peer Recovery Support to help families affected by problematic alcohol or substance use. Designed for families with children under 18, Family Threads supports participants who are committed to strengthening their family relationships while working toward recovery goals.
Grounded in the Strengthening Families Protective Factors™ framework, the program offers individualized support, group sessions, and community activities to help families build essential skills, increase resilience, and create lasting change. Participants can earn a Family Threads Certification by completing required training, engaging in six months of coaching, and demonstrating adherence to the program’s core principles. Originally endorsed as a Promising Practice by the New Hampshire Service to Science Expert Panel in March 2022, Family Threads achieved evidence-based recognition in June 2025 through rigorous data collection and evaluation of its outcomes.
