Archways’ Family Threads Program Achieves Evidence-Based Recognition
Archways is excited to share that Family Threads has officially been recognized as an evidence-based program as of June 2025. This achievement reflects years of hard work, collaboration, and a shared commitment to strengthening families impacted by substance use.
Family Threads is a unique, integrated model that combines Family Strengthening and Peer Recovery Support to serve families with children under 18. Designed to build resilience, improve family functioning, and promote recovery, the program offers a comprehensive approach through one-on-one coaching, peer-led groups, and community-based activities. Grounded in the Strengthening Families Protective Factors™ framework, Family Threads supports families in navigating challenges while strengthening relationships and protective factors.
To demonstrate its effectiveness, Archways partnered with the Omni Institute in 2022 to conduct a rigorous, three-year program evaluation. Together, we co-developed an evaluation framework that assessed both family support and recovery-related outcomes, with the goal of meeting the standards set by New Hampshire’s Service to Science Program. Evaluation findings showed consistent and meaningful improvements in participants’ mental health, family dynamics, recovery capital, and access to basic needs—all within the first six months of participation. Participants also reported a strong sense of connection, satisfaction, and personal progress toward their recovery and family goals.
This recognition as an evidence-based program not only validates the impact of Family Threads—it also strengthens the foundation for future replication, sustainability, and continued service to families across the state.
We’re grateful to our dedicated staff, committed families, and partners like Omni who helped make this achievement possible.
